Brass Band Northwest opens our season with the thrilling "Year of the Dragon' by Philip Sparke. This is one of the few works originally written for brass band that has been claimed by other ensembles. "The Year of the Dragon" was commissioned by the Cory Band, from South Wales, to celebrate their centennial. The work was such a success that the Cory Band commissioned Sparke for a second work, "Hail the Dragon” to celebrate their 125th anniversary.
